Having some strange problems with the paypal account

I have been using paypal for ages now and i have ever had a problem with it until now. I have been asked by someone on ebay to find details of a transaction we had a few months ago. I think they deleted the details and want them from me. The problem i have is that i went on to my paypal account but i keep getting an error when i try and search. The box keeps flagging up paypal history search unavailable no i do not know if this is a temp problem or something i am doing wrong. I tried asking paypal but i keep ending up on their silly automated chat thing which i find infuriating to be honest. Every time i ask it a question i only get directed to help pages, i don't see the point of it why don't i just go to help and search for myself. I would find the same details if i had so don't know why they even bothered with it to be honest.
