New phone, new problems, no new solutions!

I have recently made a switch to a htc phone from my old school nokia that i refused to let go of for the last 3 years! it has been a great phone but the battery died completely on it and it was looking a bit worse for wear so decided to upgrade. I went to my local shop and went through the options with them, they sold me a htc something or other which looks amazing but so complicated! it took me the best part of an hour to figure out how to text someone. I was looking for some sort of droid help line because i think that is what the software is called on here. I couldn't really find anything that was useful though. I have studied the manual like mad and found some useful stuff out but not enough to tell me how to do everything i want to do on it. What i might do is take it back and see about getting something a bit simpler to use that i will understand.
