Use the settings which go with your program.

When you decide to advance from another program that you were using earlier, you should know that the settings of the new program that you are using are different. Therefore if you do not change them you will have trouble transferring documents. If for example you were using word 2003, then you moved straight to word 2010, there is likely going to be a problem because the settings have been changed to suit the new program. I personally tried moving my word 2003 to Word 2010 this document could not be registered, I was then informed that the settings used were different. It is therefore important to change your settings too when you choose a new program to be using. If you do this, you will rarely encounter problems when transferring your files and the documents will quickly respond to the new settings. For a document to be registered it should go hand in hand with the program it is being transferred to, otherwise it will fail to initiate the process, so ensure you do this before anything else.
